"He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf." Prov 11:28
Jesus famously asked, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" Even 2000 years ago, too much of our focus was on gaining material wealth and pursuing conspicuous consumption. Most of us know the tragedy of the rich young ruler who walked away from heavenly riches to come in favor or worldly riches today.
Beloved, let us remember that where are hearts are, there also lie our treasures. Either they are the few temporary scraps we can gather here or the inconceivably vast and permanent spiritual wealth we can obtain through the benevolence of God.
What can be more valuable than an eternity with the Creator?
